Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Director, Distribution & Product, Deposits is accountable for the end-to-end ownership of Wealth One’s Deposit business, including national distribution and sales execution, deposit product design, and go-to-market partnership with Marketing.
In addition to third-party distribution, this role will inform and guide Wealth One’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) deposit strategy, ensuring alignment across pricing, product structure, positioning, and funding objectives.
This role serves as the single business owner for deposit products and works closely with Treasury, Marketing, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Technology to design, launch, and scale competitive deposit offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Distribution & Sales Leadership
- Own national deposit distribution performance across broker, dealer, and strategic partner channels
- Build and maintain senior relationships with deposit brokers, advisors, and counterparties
- Execute distribution strategies aligned with funding, pricing, and balance sheet objectives
- Track and report on sales results, pipeline activity, broker performance, and funding outcomes
- Act as a senior representative of Wealth One within the deposit broker community
Deposit Product Ownership
- Act as Product Owner for all deposit products (e.g., GICs, HISA, term deposits, new offerings)
- Define product features, pricing structures, target segments, and enhancement priorities
- Partner with Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure regulatory, liquidity, and operational alignment
- Lead product approvals, enhancements, and lifecycle management
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and broker feedback to refine products
D2C Strategy Enablement (Deposits)
- Inform and guide Wealth One’s direct-to-consumer deposit strategy from a product and funding perspective
- Ensure D2C offerings align with overall deposit pricing, structure, and funding objectives
- Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to support D2C product positioning and launch readiness
- Provide competitive intelligence and broker-channel insights to support D2C decision-making
- Support clear segmentation and alignment between broker-led and D2C strategies
Marketing & Go-to-Market Partnership
- Partner closely with Marketing on deposit product positioning, value propositions, and campaigns
- Lead broker-facing product launches, updates, and sales enablement initiatives
- Ensure marketing materials align with funding priorities and distribution strategy
- Own broker communications related to deposit products
Cross-Functional Coordination & Governance
- Serve as the primary business lead for deposits across internal stakeholder groups
- Collaborate with Risk Management and Compliance to support governance and regulatory alignment
- Partner with Operations and Technology to support scalable onboarding and servicing
- Provide input into ALCO and senior leadership discussions related to funding strategy
Performance & Financial Accountability
- Own deposit growth targets and contribution to overall funding strategy
- Support forecasting and planning in partnership with Finance and Treasury
- Identify opportunities to optimize pricing, product mix, and channel effectiveness
- Provide regular performance updates to executive leadership
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 8–12+ years of experience in deposit products, financial services distribution, or funding-related roles
- Strong experience working with deposit brokers and/or investment dealer channels
- Demonstrated experience owning or leading financial product development or pricing initiatives
- Solid understanding of balance-sheet funding, liquidity, and margin considerations
- Experience within a Canadian regulated financial institution preferred
- Strong stakeholder management, execution, and communication skills
