Accounts Payable Specialist
Full time | Mid Level | Reports to the Finance Manager
Hybrid (2 days in office)
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable (“AP”) Specialist performs the Bank’s financial transactions such as accounts payable, money transfers, and payroll, and records the related transactions in the accounting system, as well as implement best practices in financial administration.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Gather relevant financial data and provide the data to the appropriate stakeholders in order for them to prepare the financial reports
- Perform the accounts payable functions by various payment types in RBC Express.
- Update daily transaction records in the accounting system.
- Prepare the semi-monthly expenses reports summary for payment.
- Participate in system implementation and enhancement projects, including initiatives involving Float and Microsoft Dynamics, to support improved financial operations and workflow efficiency.
- Support the automation and optimization of Accounts Payable processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, as well as expenses.
- Keep records of invoices and tax payments, as well as review and process reimbursements.
- Participate in the new launch of Bank wide projects
- Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in financial administration.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Financial Administrator, or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of financial controls and accounting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superb organizational and time management abilities.
- Great collaboration and communication skills.
- Payroll related experiences and knowledge would be an asset.
