Business Development Manager, Residential Lending, Ontario

Full time | Mid-Level | Reports to the Chief Credit Officer

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager (“BDM”) is responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives and establish new business relationships for the Bank’s Residential lending program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the Bank’s goals and objectives.
  • Build, onboard, and maintain a robust pipeline of referral partners through proactive prospecting, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.
  • With your manager, develop and execute sales plans, including setting targets, defining sales strategies, and monitoring progress.
  • Represent the Bank at Industry events and conferences.
  • Act as a key business partner to mortgage brokers within the assigned territory.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, competitive landscape to differentiate and effectively position the Bank’s program.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Underwriting/Credit, Marketing, and Operations.

Requirements

  • You engage with purpose, sound judgement, and professionalism to find the right solutions. You go the extra mile because it’s the right thing to do.
  • You’re passionate about people. You like to build relationships and trust through respect, accountability, and authenticity.
  • As a professional, you have 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related role within the banking or financial industry, and a proven track record of successfully acquiring new clients (both b2b and b2c). Preference in Alternative lending or broker based lenders.
  • You have exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with key decision-makers.
  • You have strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • You are a results-oriented individual, with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
  • You are proficient at using CRM systems, sales tools, and analytics software.
