Thunderbird Partnership Foundation is a national non-profit organization serving First Nations in mental wellness. Our mandate is set by three frameworks:
- Honouring Our Strengths: A Renewed Framework to Address Substance Use Issues Among First Nations People in Canada
- Indigenous Wellness Framework
- First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum
Our core stakeholders are First Nations communities and the network of First Nations adult and youth treatment centres. To support our mandate, Thunderbird has two office locations, one based in a First Nations community in southwestern Ontario, and the other in the city of London, Ontario.
Your Opportunity
- You will be responsible for effective planning, coordination and implementation of the addictions management database within a fast paced and national not-for profit First Nations organization.
- You will be the dedicated contact for the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP) and National Youth Solvent Abuse Program (NYSAP) treatment centres and stakeholders.
- You will work on a team with others similar to yourself who are dedicated to work which has real value and meaning in the lives of others.

As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Addictions Program Coordinator, you will:
- be responsible for the coordination of functions and activities for the client/case management information databases while ensuring that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding parameters or other specifications; and
- be responsible for establishing good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with NNADAP and NYSAP Treatment Centres, community partners, and other regional and national stakeholders to help achieve the goals in data management, analysis, and reporting.
You Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or relevant field AND two (2) years’ experience involving case management
OR
- A Social Service Worker diploma or relevant field and four (4) years’ experience involving case management.
Other Requirements:
- Experience working in treatment centres and/or mental health organizations
- Registration in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers an asset
- Able to plan, organize and implement learning activities, workshops and events while being able to establish and meet targets and objectives
- Ability to engage treatment centres in valuing data for communicating their strengths and the difference culture makes in addictions services
- Able to adjust activities and work priorities in light of changing circumstances while meeting position responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner
- Able to build constructive working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and other professionals
- A demonstrated ability to lead people, resources and processes with an emphasis on efficient and effective resource management in order to meet project outcomes
- Able to lead working groups and effectively listen and communicate with stakeholders to meet their needs
- Experience in reading, interpreting and analyzing data from databases and reports
- Experience in creating graphs, reports and presentations
- Professionalism and cooperation along with a strong ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality
- Effective problem-solving skills with the use of initiative and creativity
- Strong communication skills through written, electronic or visual means and oral communication, in both informal and formal situations
- Ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds, particularly within First Nation communities/societies
- Fluency in a First Nations language is a definite asset
- Excellent computer and technology skills
- Ability to attend work locations not accessible by public transportation
- Flexibility to travel as required
