Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
* Weekends, Evenings & Overtime Required during CNE (Aug. 21st - Sept. 7th)
Pay Rate: $20.40/ hr

The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Admissions, Security & Event Services, the Event Operations Support’s role will assist in coordinating all activities related to the gates and admissions function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the implementation of the CNE transportation and parking plans
- Provide support with respect to the CNE requirements around the site during move-in, and move-out for all events
- Aid, with the assistance of 3rd party supplier, all activities related to parking
- Offer direct support of deployment of emergency and traffic control services
- Assist in the implementation of the security plan, liaising with 3rd party security providers and security consultants as directed
- Assist in managing the expectations of 3rd party suppliers including online ticketing provider, merchant account provider and gate services provider to ensure proper delivery of services as directed
- Provide support for all departmental initiatives when requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have a valid G or G2 driver’s license
- Smart Serve Certified considered an asset
- Must be available to work August 21st to September 7th, flexible hours,
- weekends and evenings
- Experience working at large scale events
- Proven customer service skills
- Experience with operations/control procedures an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral & written)
- Able to understand and work through complex situations
- Comfortable speaking with people at all levels
- Stays on top of tasks and meets deadlines
- Gets along well with others and works well in a team
- Works efficiently independently and takes initiative
- Detail-oriented and thorough in all work
- Comfortable working in areas that contain bright lights, loud noises and crowds of people
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to engage in physical tasks, including safe lifting and moving heavy items
