Your role will have an overarching mandate to provide EW SME support across all aspects of the business. Heavy emphasis will be on EW Operational Support, modelling and simulation, EW software tools and in general to all facets of EW technologies, concepts and doctrine.

 

What you will do

 

As an Electronic Warfare Specialist at LCI, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting cross-functional teams, projects, and business initiatives. Working closely with the EW Functional Lead, you’ll contribute to capability development, strategic technical direction, and team growth. Your responsibilities will include:

×           Business Development Support:

o    Support current and prospective business opportunities through the creation of demo material and delivery of technical product briefings

o    Identify and communicate potential new opportunities discovered in the course of your work.

 

×           Product & Capability Support:

o    Support the design, development and implementations of product enhancements in alignment with the EW capability roadmap.

o    Provide input on capabilities needed to address operational deficiencies and user requirements.

o    Enhancing LCI’s software architecture to meet evolving customer demands;

o    Define and manage modelling and simulation requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

o    Translate operational and technical requirements into simulation model specifications.

o    Support identification and management of technical risks and opportunities.

 

×           EW Modelling Leadership & Expertise:

o    Serve as a key contributor to active delivery projects.

o    Provide SME support to the EW Functional lead including code reviews, technical mentoring and identification of training opportunities grow EW domain expertise across the team.

o    Conduct make/buy analyses regarding the integration of simulation specific commercial products in the simulation architecture.

o    Supporting EW Software development including conducting technical investigations, design, C++ conversion development, testing and documentation.

o    Working with the product owner to support backlog development and scope of work.

o    Provide EW technical support for existing customers.

What we are looking for

 

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Electronic Warfare and related defence technologies. We are seeking someone with broad experience and demonstrable capability in the following areas:

×           Technical & Domain Expertise:

o    SME-level knowledge in one or more of the following:

§  Radar systems

§  Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems

§  Platform dynamics (e.g., aircraft or missile guidance, navigation, control, propulsion)

§  Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including antenna theory and RF circuit design

§  Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), including Electronic Support (ES), Electronic Attack (EA), and Electronic Protection (EP)

§  Signal processing as applied to communication systems

×           Additional Competencies

o    Experience with data/sensor fusion, tracking algorithms, and threat vulnerability assessment

o    Familiarity with threat systems relevant to the Canadian Armed Forces, NATO, and allied nations

o    Awareness of open-source intelligence related to EW and EMSO

o    Ability to provide training and guidance to customers on tool usage and application to modern EW warfare practices

Security Clearance

 

Given the nature of our software development work, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate receive the required security clearances. Successful candidates must be eligible for Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to NATO SECRET level.

In general, to obtain these clearances, you:

×           Must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

×           Must have lived in Canada continuously for the past 10 years;
