ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

PRODUCT MANAGER (Calgary-In Office/Hybrid)                                                                          

We are seeking a Product Manager, Logistics Solutions, who thrives at the intersection of real‑world operations and technology. This role owns product discovery, prioritization, and validation across Ziing’s logistics solutions—ensuring our technology investments solve real, paid for operational problems, drive customer value, and translate into measurable margin improvement.

Reporting to the VP, Product – Logistics Solutions, you will shape and deliver microservices and solution components that improve operational leverage, reduce friction, and enable scalable enterprise‑grade logistics capabilities. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Technology, Sales, and Enterprise Product to ensure decisions balance speed, durability, and commercial impact.

This is a role for a builder who values speed‑to‑value, evidence‑based decision making, and the discipline to avoid over‑engineering. What You Will Do:  

 

Product Discovery & Problem Definition

·        Identify high-friction workflows across logistics operations and customers.

·        Translate operational pain points into clear, actionable product problems.

·        Validate problem importance through usage signals, customer behaviour, and revenue/margin impact.

Microservice Creation and Validation

·        Lead definition and delivery of microservices within logistics solutions.

·        Ensure new microservices are valuable, adopted and resilient to edge cases.

·        Partner with Technology to rapidly test, iterate, and launch working solutions.

Roadmap Prioritization

·        Own the logistics product roadmap end to end.

·        Prioritize based on customer impact, margin improvement, operational leverage and sales enablement.

·        Balance speed-to-value with long term reusability.

Commercial Enablement

·        Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to provide clear product narratives, value articulation use-case clarity.

·        Ensure product decisions support deal velocity and customer retention.

Signal Generation for Platform Products

·        Identify microservices that show repeatability, durability, and cross-customer demand.

·        Recommend candidates for enterprise productization.

·        Provide real-world insights to Director, Product – Enterprise Solutions.

·        Platform signals will feed into the Product Council.

Success Metrics

·        Adoption and repeat usage of microservices in logistics operations.

·        Customer retention and expansion attributable to product value.

·        Reduction in manual workflows.

·        Revenue and margin uplift tied directly to product changes.

Reporting & Decision Rights

·        Reports to VP, Product – Logistics Solutions.

·        Owns logistics product prioritization.

·        Co‑owns shared product standards with Director, Product – Enterprise Solutions.

·        Escalates platform vs. revenue trade‑offs through the Product Council.

Explicit Boundaries

·        This role does NOT:

o   Own enterprise product packaging or pricing.

o   Design long‑term platform architecture.

o   Optimize for configurability at the cost of speed.

o   Utilize bespoke logic that cannot scale to enterprise Saas.


What You Bring: 

 

·        Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 

·        5+ years of product management experience in technology, SaaS, logistics, or operations‑driven environments.

·        3+ years of leadership experience managing Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross‑functional teams.

·        Strong analytical and problem‑definition skills; comfortable validating with data and behavioural signals.

·        Experience collaborating with software development teams (Microsoft ecosystem experience an asset).

·        Ability to write clear problem definitions, simplify workflows, and drive clarity.

·        Strong communication skills, including ability to support Sales and Solutions teams.

·        Experience working in Agile environments and driving rapid iteration.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities. 

 

Our ideal candidate is located in Calgary, which is where our headquarters reside. We offer Flex with Purpose work arrangements which include In Office (303-110 9th Ave SW) and Hybrid only as this role works with our Senior Leadership Team based in Calgary.
