Eligibility

  • An undergraduate degree and/or post-secondary training in environmental science, social science or a similar field of study is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered.
  • General knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, as well as Yukon First Nations and First Nations Agreements, is required.
  • Experience managing complex projects is required.
  • Experience supervising a team is required.
  • Experience working in a First Nation government is considered an asset.

The Manager, Designated Office works in Dawson City, Yukon

The Manager, Designated Office, reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, will be a part of the Designated Office Assessment Team, as well as YESAB’s management team. The Manager, Designated Office is responsible for:

  • Managing, leading and supporting all projects assessed in the Dawson Assessment District.
  • Ensuring that Senior Management is thoroughly briefed on all assessment details.
  • Ensuring that participants understand the assessment review process and how to best participate in that process.
  • Maintaining relationships with proponents, Government of Canada, First Nations and Yukon Government.
  • Preparing detailed evidence-based recommendation reports that present assessment review outcomes.
  • Managing the operations of the Designated Office and providing support, guidance, and supervision.
