Administrative Assistant - Summer Student

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Administrative Assistant Summer Student is involved in performing a range of administrative and clerical duties to support the operations of Willow Lake Métis Nation. This role includes assisting managers and employees, mentoring younger summer students, managing daily office tasks, and ensuring the efficient handling of general administrative activities as well and labor work with the youth students.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and labor support to the citizens, staff and community.
- Support staff with administrative duties and tasks.
- Assist with the preparation of content, layout and release of electronic communications to stakeholders such as brochures, mass mailings, e-newsletters, event listings, media/public announcements, social media posts and other communication elements.
- Assists and/or coordinates projects, special events and activities as required
- Manage and work alongside the high school summer student program including supervising the summer students, hands on support, job site visits, HSE requirements, etc.
- Perform other administrative duties as required such as photocopying, expenses and ordering supplies.
- Must prioritize safety and comply with the WLMN Health and Safety Manual and OHS regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of education at the College or University Level with preference given to applicants whose education is in the area of Administration experience, public relations or another relevant field of study.
- Labor experience
- Demonstrated communication and writing skills
- Experience using various administrative programs
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and to meet deadlines successfully under pressure
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Flexible (as some events take place in the evenings, weekends, or holidays).
Certificate/Training Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
Location: Anzac, Alberta
Hours of Work: 32 hours per week: May – August 30, 2026
Pay: $20/hour
