On any given day we could be serving with our CATERING team a plated meal to a happy couple at their wedding reception, smoking up a feast at HUNTER GATHER or passing canapes and champagne to guests in a world class art gallery, providing a Chef-driven casual dining experience at MILE ONE focusing on great BC ingredients, or even fuelling up customers with their daily caffeine fix at CRANKED.

Starting Wage: $21.00-25.00 / hour including tips

Work Term: Part Time and Casual (specific dates through summer 2024)

In this role:

You will begin your shift at Whistler Cooks and then work at off site events in the Sea to Sky corridor.

You will aim to ensure our guests get the best food, service and dining experience possible.

Specific Tasks Include:

Onsite

• Room set-up and teardown.
• Set-up of buffet or food service and refreshment station.
• Refilling items like plates, cutlery, glassware as guests use them.
• Clearing tables and re-setting them during shift.
• Refilling and maintaining buffets according to and using cleanliness standards.

Service

• Greet and serve all guests in a timely, friendly manner.
• Prepare and deliver all food and beverage items in a timely manner.
• Follow the wine service steps when needed.
• Work as a bartender when required.
• Work on a simple cash register when required.
• Answer guests' questions and provide information to the best of your abilities. When in doubt, consult the service supervisor.
• Resolve guest complaints. When this is not possible, refer to the service supervisor.

You will need to:

• Have a thorough knowledge of the menu items.
• Be able to carry tray of glassware with up to 8 wine glasses.
• Be able to clear and carry up to four 12” dinner plates and cutlery.
• Have your Serving It Right Certificate.
• Hold a valid work permit or be a Canadian Citizen.
• Have a valid BC Drivers License.
