What You’ll Be Doing

As a Bridgeman Pile Driver, Welder, or Carpenter, you’ll be part of the crew responsible for constructing essential marine and foundation structures.

Core Responsibilities

·       Construction & Installation: Build, install, repair, or remove deep piles, caisson foundations, and marine structures.

·       Equipment Operation: Use a range of power tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively.

·       Rigging & Signaling: Assist with and perform rigging duties; understand proper signaling procedures.

·       Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials; operate equipment for safe material movement.

·       Construction & Repairs: Erect, install, and repair structural frameworks using hand and power tools.

·       Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.

·       Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance.

·       Minimal Supervision: Work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Welding Responsibilities (for Welder Role)

·       Perform high‑quality welds using multiple techniques.

·       Weld in various positions while maintaining CWB standards.

·       Monitor welding processes and ensure quality‑control compliance.

Safety Commitment

·       Follow all HSE standards and use required PPE at all times.

·       Maintain strong awareness of marine and heavy civil safety practices.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

·       5+ years in pile driving, welding, or carpentry within heavy civil or marine construction.

Licensing & Certifications

·       Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter or Bridgeman Pile Driver Trade Certification

·       Welder Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal

·       Current CWB (FCAW) Certification – required for welders

·       Valid driver’s license + clean abstract (if operating company vehicles)

·        Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (preferred)

·       Or willingness to enroll in the Bridgeman Apprenticeship Program

Technical Skills

·       Strong rigging, signaling, and equipment‑handling abilities

·       Proficient with welding equipment and heavy tools

·       Able to interpret blueprints and welding specifications

·       Skilled in equipment inspections and preventative maintenance

·       Solid communication skills and ability to guide or support others

·       Knowledge of marine and heavy civil construction environments

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in paying fairly for skill, dedication, and hard work.

·       $52–$60/hour (based on union collective agreement)

·       $10/hour retention bonus

·       Pension and benefits eligibility
