Are you an experienced Surveyor based in Vancouver seeking to advance your career in a dynamic and rewarding environment? Van Pile is looking to hire a surveyor for an on-site, fly-in, fly-out position with a 21/7 shift rotation. The job is full-time for 18 months in Prince Rupert, with accommodation and travel expenses covered.


Position: Surveyor

Site Location: Prince Rupert - Fly in Fly out

Responsibilities:

- Perform surveying for marine and heavy civil construction projects.

- Field survey pile locations and batter orientations using GPS and a total station.

- Field survey structure locations and elevations using GPS and a total station.

- Draft pre-construction layout and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.

- Perform survey requirements for dredging projects.

- Collect and process data using a Single Beam Echo Sounder and a Global Positioning System (GPS) for collection, reduction, and presentation of topographic and bathymetric data.

- Draft pre- and post-dredging drawings using AutoCAD.

- Prepare field equipment, coordinate packing/shipping of field equipment/tools/supplies, and travel to/from work sites.

- Prepare reports and drawings.

- Work independently and professionally in the field and office.

- Complete projects on time and within budget.

- Work successfully as an integral team member to achieve project goals.

- Have a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment.


Qualifications / Requirements:

The ideal candidate should know conventional and hydrographic surveying techniques and:

- Demonstrated proficiency with survey principles and methodologies, including Differential GPS and Real-Time Kinematic GPS.

- 3 to 5 years' experience in the construction industry.

- Experience with single-beam, seismic, side-scan, magnetometer, and underwater video survey systems is an asset.

-Proficiency in using Trimble survey equipment. (S7 and TSC 5)

- Ability to conduct surveys using reflector-less technology.

- Familiarity with using vertical and horizontal adjustment buttons on the Trimble S7.

- Proficient with HYPACK and AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is considered an asset).

- A valid driver's license is necessary, with a clean driving record.

- Proficiency in operating small boats is an asset.
