The Opportunity

Weave is seeking an experienced Fund Manager to lead the establishment and growth of a first-of-its-kind impact investment fund. This role offers a rare opportunity to bring an innovative fund to market, lead capital raising efforts, and oversee capital deployment.

The Fund Manager will play a central role in fundraising, investor relations, and portfolio management working closely with the Board, Managing Director, Investment Committee, and a growing network of investors and investees. 

This is a senior leadership role for someone who is excited by both the responsibility and the possibility of scaling a new model for how investment capital can serve communities across Canada.

About Weave Community Capital Fund 

Weave is a $30 million impact investment fund pooling capital from institutional and accredited investors to invest in issuers of community bonds across Canada.

The fund accelerates deployment, reduces risk for individual investors, and strengthens the financial resilience of mission-driven organizations. The fund prioritizes investments in three sectors: affordable housing, climate and renewable energy & social-purpose real estate. 

Weave was incubated and founded by Tapestry Community Capital, a leading not-for-profit impact investment advisory firm. Tapestry has supported organizations across Canada to raise more than $130M through community investment campaigns primarily targeting retail investors. Weave was designed strategically as a product to attract institutional and accredited investment to community investment opportunities. 

The fund is governed under a General Partner/ Limited Partner (GP/LP) structure. Weave is supported by a growing network of LPs and nearing a first close in Spring 2026. 

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Investor Relations 

  • Lead fundraising strategy and execution, working closely with institutional and accredited investors
  • Build, manage, and steward relationships with current and prospective investors
  • Represent the fund in investor meetings, presentations, and due diligence processes
  • Oversee preparation of fundraising materials, including pitch decks, data room materials, and investor updates
  • Maintain a disciplined fundraising pipeline, tracking commitments, timelines, and closes
  • Communicate transparently with investors about fund performance, risks, and progress toward targets

Fund & Portfolio Management

  • Oversee financial management, investment performance, and portfolio risk across a diversified set of investments
  • Lead investment assessment and recommendations to the Investment Committee
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify risks or underperformance early
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

Governance & Strategy

  • Work closely with the Board, Executive, and Investment Committee to ensure proper governance
  • Oversee on-boarding and governance of the Investment Committee
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and fiduciary requirements
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the fund
  • Represent Weave publicly at events and conferences 

Experience & Qualifications

  • A proven track record of raising capital and managing investor relationships
  • Demonstrated experience managing or advising investment funds or portfolios, ideally with a social or environmental impact focus
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in fund management, investment management, or a closely related field

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

  • CFA (Level II or higher), CPA, or equivalent professional designation
  • Comfort working in French
  • Experience in affordable housing, renewable energy, or social-purpose real estate
  • Familiarity with Canada’s impact investing industry

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000-$120,000 + bonus (commensurate with experience)
  • Time off: Generous paid time off including 4 weeks of vacation, a two-week year-end closure, statutory holidays, paid health days, a birthday day off.
  • Health & retirement: $5,000 flexible health spending account and 3% RRSP matching contribution

Work Environment

  • Fully remote, with candidates required to reside in Canada (preference for those based within 1–2 hours of the GTHA)
  • Full time salaried position - occasional travel within Canada and occasional evening and weekend work required. 
  • Optional access to a shared office space in downtown Toronto
