Toronto City Church is seeking a gifted and visionary Communications Director. This role is ideal for someone who loves building teams, creating systems, bringing clarity to communication, and ensuring every expression of our church reflects our mission, culture, and values.

The Communications Director will provide leadership to our Communications, Marketing, Brand Management, and Digital Design teams while helping shape how Toronto City Church communicates both internally and externally.

Toronto City Church is a growing, multi-generational, Spirit-filled church located in Toronto’s east end. We exist to help people encounter Jesus, experience transformation, and make a difference in their world.

We believe creativity is a powerful tool for communicating the Gospel, telling stories of transformation, and helping people connect with the life of the church.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Communications Director is responsible for strategically planning, coordinating, and facilitating the work of the Creative Team. This role provides leadership and oversight to communications, branding, marketing, and digital design initiatives across the church.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader, communicator, and project manager who can build healthy teams, develop leaders, and ensure that every creative expression aligns with the vision and mission of Toronto City Church.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Communications Strategy

• Partner with church leadership to develop and execute communication strategies.
• Ensure consistent communication of church events, ministries, services, and initiatives.
• Oversee church-wide email communications, newsletters, and announcements.
• Maintain and improve communication workflows and systems.

Digital & Social Media Oversight

• Oversee social media platforms and digital communication channels.
• Ensure content aligns with the vision, values, and strategic goals of the church.
• Collaborate with creative teams to develop engaging and effective content.
• Monitor effectiveness and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Project Management

• Lead major seasonal campaigns and church-wide initiatives.
• Coordinate creative projects from concept to completion.
• Manage timelines, workflows, and team collaboration.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and with excellence.

Website Oversight

• Ensure the church website remains current, accessible, and effective.
• Work with ministry leaders to keep information accurate and relevant.
• Identify opportunities to improve user experience and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
• Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience in communications, marketing, branding, digital media, or related fields.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in a church, ministry, agency, or creative environment is considered an asset.
