What you will do:
The Category Manager will work closely with the leadership and sales teams, as well as customers, to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to expand both the overall category and PUR Company’s volume. This role will be responsible for updating and delivering monthly market reviews, analyzing post-promotional performance with actionable recommendations, and providing key customer and market insights to support sales and marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize our category sales by effectively influencing assortment, shelving (planogram/ merchandising), distribution, pricing, promotion and feature activity plans
- Utilizes best practices in analytics to provide insights and recommendations from customer POS, shopper research, consumer research, syndicated data sources and synthesize into a clear concise persuasive call to action
- Monitor and report on the execution of customer and retailer strategies to ensure agreed objectives are met
- Provides in-depth customer and segment analysis and insights to support the development of fact-based customer account plans and delivery of annual business objectives
- Supports the business with the development of sales strategy and key action points based on data.
- Identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of PUR insights processes.
- Additional duties and responsibilities of this position may be modified or expanded as business needs require.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- +5 years of successful experience in a CPG environment, with a focus on category management and/ or a Category Advisor role with a proven track record of accomplishments and business transformation.
- Key Account or Sales Strategy experience within CPG would be very helpful but not mandatory
- Experience with Retailer POS and Nielsen syndicate databases.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proactive planning and organizational skills.
