Overview:


Reporting to the Programs Manager – Agriculture, the Programs Assistant – Agriculture’s role will be to provide support to agricultural programs running at the CNE. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with all agricultural programming and events for the up-coming CNE
  • Assist with the hiring and training of all 18-day staff communicating Agriculture needs to the Summer Staffing Office
  • Perform daily office administrative/ clerical duties, e.g. photocopying, faxing, packaging, filing as required
  • Communicate and report to the Programs Manager - Agriculture of all concerns relating to program needs
  • Ensure that all environments meet safety standards and report any concerns immediately
  • Uphold the confidentiality of all employee files
  • Additional duties and new projects as may be assigned

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:


  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Willingness to work early mornings
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work up to and including Labour Day Monday as a minimum
  • Flexibility to work days or evenings during the event, as required

History of the CNE:


The Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1879 for the purpose of fostering the development of agriculture, industry and the arts. The CNEA has a strong and long history of planning and executing the 18-day Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).
