Position Description
Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Project Engineer/Coordinator (Well Pad Program – Controls Integration).
This position will manage and coordinate the client’s Well Pad Program Controls Integration Scope. The Well Pad Program involves the design, supply, installation and integration of new well pads at site through a robust template and workflow developed with the client, the EP (Engineering & Procurement) and Tetranex. This is a long-term program focused on sustaining production through the ongoing installation of templated Well Pads.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating, leading and scheduling the Controls Integration scope, with Technical Leads, for the Well Pad program. This includes PLC configuration, HAT testing of modules and panels, and site pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities. This position will work closely with the Technical Leads on resourcing requirements. The candidate will proactively manage and remove barriers regarding changes or additions requested by the client during well pad implementation, specifically where requirements deviate from the existing Well Pad template.
Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the main point of contact and interface with the EP, the Client, and vendors. Ensure that Client requirements align with the EP direction. Approved direction is clearly communicated to the technical team and vendors.
- Facilitate internal team meetings and kick-offs; communicate relevant budgets and schedules to CIs and Technical Leads.
Project Delivery
- Manage the Well Pad project, from the Controls Integration perspective, estimate development and new project set-up through to final invoice approvals and close-out.
- Maintain dashboards, spend profiles, actuals, and lessons learned. Manage project schedules and change management processes.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for the Client Rolling Action Item List (RAIL), ensuring all deliverables are tracked, prioritized, and executed according to project milestones.
- Provide guidance for the development of field binders and turnover processes. Provide clear direction regarding Frozen EWPs, FCNs, and RFIs to ensure documentation integrity.
- Coordination of fiber tie-in CWPs for new well pads. Responsible for the provision of fiber scopes and schedules to the Fiber Team.
- Initiate and coordinate MRQ’s and MRP’s for the procurement of items within Tetranex’s scope in close coordination with the procurement department.
Panel, Module & Pad Scopes
- Manage day-to-day scheduling and resourcing for Module/Panel testing to align with dynamic EP and vendor schedules. Ensure turnover packages are issued on schedule.
- Act as the point of contact for Modyard vendors and coordinate VFD vendor testing, including issuing POs.
- Work with Team Leads to update schedules and allocate resources and update the Tetranex Resource Loading tool.
- Steward outstanding items required for field turnover between the binder team and Control Integrators (CI).
Requirements:
- A relevant degree/diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent industry experience is required.
- Must possess knowledge of Automation/Controls, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Automation/Controls Systems or Project Engineer/Coordinator experience.
- Proven experience managing the EIC equipment procurement process, including bid evaluation and vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of Project Engineer/Coordinator fundamentals including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change management.
- A solid technical understanding of Automation and Controls disciplines and their interdependencies within a broader engineering context.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project scheduling tools is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects of varying scale simultaneously, from single-discipline scopes to large, integrated multi-discipline programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate competing priorities and drive issues to resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the comfort to engage with field teams, engineers, clients, vendors, and senior leadership.
- Ability to provide clear direction to technical teams and vendors.
- A self-starter mindset with the discipline to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
