Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist/Checker.

Responsibilities:

• Quality assurance and checking of electrical engineering and design deliverables and project work packages.
• Electrical calculation reviews – Electric Heat Trace, lighting, voltage drop, tray fill, etc.
• Electrical equipment and materials sizing review.
• Vendor documentation reviews.
• Compliance with electrical code, other regulatory bodies and client specifications and standards.
• Material acceptability – certification, Area class, NEMA rating, temperature, etc.
• Electrical heat trace design and control panel design validation.
• Upholding drafting standards and design consistency.
• Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
• Mentor junior resources to provide growth in understanding of key industry concepts relating to the Electrical discipline.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation design applications in support of energy sector projects.
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Electrical Design from a recognized technical institute or comparable industry experience.
• Extensive EP Engineering experience as well as construction experience.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, NavisWorks and EHT calculation software.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical design calculations, including: EHT, lighting, tray fill, cable & protection sizing.
• Solid working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
• Bluebeam Revu experience.
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
