Position Description
Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist/Checker.
Responsibilities:
- Quality assurance and checking of electrical engineering and design deliverables and project work packages.
- Electrical calculation reviews – Electric Heat Trace, lighting, voltage drop, tray fill, etc.
- Electrical equipment and materials sizing review.
- Vendor documentation reviews.
- Compliance with electrical code, other regulatory bodies and client specifications and standards.
- Material acceptability – certification, Area class, NEMA rating, temperature, etc.
- Electrical heat trace design and control panel design validation.
- Upholding drafting standards and design consistency.
- Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
- Mentor junior resources to provide growth in understanding of key industry concepts relating to the Electrical discipline.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation design applications in support of energy sector projects.
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Electrical Design from a recognized technical institute or comparable industry experience.
- Extensive EP Engineering experience as well as construction experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, NavisWorks and EHT calculation software.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical design calculations, including: EHT, lighting, tray fill, cable & protection sizing.
- Solid working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
- Bluebeam Revu experience.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
