Position Description

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a Full-time Intermediate or Senior EIC Project Manager to lead Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) projects from concept through to completion. You'll be responsible for managing projects across the full spectrum, from smaller, fast-moving scopes to large, complex ones, ensuring each one is delivered on time, on budget, and to the standard our clients expect.

This is a hands-on role that demands both technical fluency in EIC disciplines and strong project management fundamentals. Project scopes range from full EIC, single E, I, or C disciplines through to fully integrated EIC and multi-discipline programs. You'll work directly with clients, coordinate internal EIC teams, and integrate seamlessly within either project structure.

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & EIC Coordination

  • Lead EIC projects of varying size and complexity through all phases of the project lifecycle, from early-stage estimating and conceptual design through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage and coordinate EIC resources in the development of project and technical deliverables including cost estimates, decision summaries, risk analyses, deliverable schedules, Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), and construction support activities.
  • Integrate and interface with multi-discipline project teams to manage and communicate EIC requirements and delegate technical tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, QA/QC policies, and project specifications.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and change management processes; prepare regular status reports and performance tracking for clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain the project RAID log throughout the project lifecycle, capturing risks, action items, decisions, and meeting minutes.
  • Manage the EIC equipment procurement process in close coordination with Tetranex's procurement department.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact; coordinate and facilitate client and internal kick-off meetings and recurring status updates, interpret client needs, and provide clear, consistent project updates throughout the project duration.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by setting realistic expectations and consistently delivering on them.

Resource & Team Leadership

  • Develop spend profiles and resource loading plans; work with leadership to ensure the right people are in place at the right time across all active projects.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff and project team members.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in EIC engineering, project management or project engineering within an EP environment.
  • Proven ability to manage projects of varying scale and complexity simultaneously, from straightforward single-discipline scopes to large, integrated multi-discipline programs.
  • Experience managing the EIC equipment procurement process, including bid evaluation and vendor management.
  • Solid technical understanding of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls disciplines and their interdependencies within a broader engineering context.
  • Strong project management fundamentals: scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate competing priorities and drive issues to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with field teams, engineers, clients, vendors, and senior leadership alike.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project scheduling tools is an asset.
  • A self-starter mindset with the discipline to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
