VOLUNTEER, EVENT & BASECAMP
VolunteeringVolunteerBritish Columbia
The Organization:
Take a Hike empowers youth who experience vulnerability to change the trajectory of their lives with a full-time mental health and emotional well-being program embedded in an alternate education classroom. Take a Hike engages youth with intentional, continuous clinical counselling, experiential land-based learning, and community. Our public school district partners provide high quality education, and together, we empower youth with the skills and resilience they need to graduate high school, build healthy relationships, and achieve success – however they define it.

Silent Auction Committee Volunteers are essential to the success of this fundraising campaign. You’ll help us secure meaningful donations from local businesses and service providers by:
- Collaborate with Take a Hike staff to develop and review a prospect list to ensure alignment with current community partnerships. Volunteers must receive approval before reaching out to any businesses or donors.
- Using a prepared Take a Hike letter and outreach materials to request in-kind donations
- Visiting or calling businesses in your network or local community to share our mission
- Talking about the youth impact of Take a Hike’s mental health and education programs
- Collecting key donation details (e.g. donor contact, item value, item description, restrictions)
- Submitting high-quality images or logos for promotion purposes
