Status: Permanent Full-Time 

Location: Mainly in-person with some remote work (Main office located in Toronto, Ontario) 

Annual Salary Range: $81,698 to $86,804, plus health and dental benefits (after three months) and RRSP matching (after two years of service) 

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday. This position does require travel and a flexible work schedule, working evenings, weekends, and overnights.

Position Summary 

Reporting to the Director, Program Fidelity and Program Development; the Associate Director, Program Delivery and Program Development will provide strategic and operational leadership for SCC’s youth programs, projects, and Toronto-based Centre 23. This role ensures programs are delivered with high quality, safety, and fidelity to SCC’s standards while amplifying youth voice and promoting innovation. The Associate Director will supervise program staff, support professional development, oversee health promotion initiatives, and lead knowledge mobilization efforts to ensure SCC’s work has meaningful impact locally and nationally. The Associate Director will also work closely with the Director, Program Fidelity and Program Development to turn youth voice into project-funding proposals to support the continued sustainability of the organisation.  

This position is ideal for an experienced leader passionate about youth engagement, program development, and creating safe, empowering spaces for young people. Note that we are a project-based organization and roles and responsibilities may shift according to the different projects that we are funded to support.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

Program Leadership and Delivery 

  • Lead three program streams: Skills Development, Healthy Relationships, and Social Cohesion & Violence Prevention. 
  • Oversee key projects within the streams, including the Art of Work Youth Employment Initiative and Hearing Unheard Moments project. 
  • Ensure Centre 23 (Toronto youth centre) is a vibrant, youth-friendly space with programming available five days a week. 
  • Support staff and youth in managing conflict and sensitive issues using SCC’s T.R.U.S.T. framework. 
  • Promote health and safety across all programs and events. 

Staff Supervision and Professional Development 

  • Supervise program delivery staff, providing coaching, performance management, and support with prioritizing tasks. 
  • Identify training and professional development needs and opportunities for staff and volunteers, especially ensuring program staff are knowledgeable and apply SCC’s program design basics of key features and standards, and are also aware of, and use, SCC library of program components and activities 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and innovation. 

Program Development and Innovation 

  • Work closely with youth and staff to generate, validate, and implement new program ideas and projects. 
  • Support the generation of funding proposals   
  • Ensure programs and projects align with SCC’s program standards, research questions and performance measurement frameworks. 
  • Track program and project progress using shared systems and report on outcomes. 

Knowledge Mobilization 

  • Support staff in generating knowledge mobilization products that amplify youth voices. 
  • Share lessons learned from programs, projects, and conflicts through SCC’s internal and external channels. 
  • Develop and deliver training based on insights and best practices. 

Administrative Leadership 

  • Ensure staff consistently use SCC’s shared systems to track project and program progress, outputs and outcomes. 
  • Contribute to performance management processes for self and team members. 
  • Maintain accurate records including timesheets, PTO, and other HR-related systems. 

Required Qualifications and Skills 

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, youth engagement, or related fields, including leadership and staff supervision. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multiple program streams simultaneously. 
  • Strong knowledge of youth development, program evaluation, and knowledge mobilization practices. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment and adapting to changing priorities. 
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset 

Preferred Qualifications and Competences 

  • Experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations. 
  • Background in health promotion, social cohesion, or violence prevention programs. 
  • Experience co-designing programs with youth or other community members. 
  • Familiarity with project performance measurement and evaluation frameworks. 
  • Experience leading or contributing to professional development and training initiatives. 
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office 365 suite, Asana (or similar project management software), cloud-based drive, CRM systems, knowledge mobilization software.
