Position: Life Skills Instructor- Discovery Program/ Enrichment Program

Location: Newton and Cloverdale

Hours: Casual, on-call. Monday- Friday, 9 am-2 pm


We are looking for a casual, on-call Life Skills Instructor to work in our Community Inclusion programs in the Newton and Cloverdale area. This individual must be Passionate about working with people, Engaging, and Empathic

Description of position:

Our Community Inclusion programs offer individuals a wide range of center and community-based services. Our diverse, talented, and experienced staff continually strive to expand the participant’s horizons and life opportunities. We place a strong emphasis on developing confidence through meaningful activities and learning experiences that promote healthy relationships, self-expression, and inclusiveness for clients in their communities. Person-centered, we endeavour to assist a range of clients in progressing to their highest potential while also providing ongoing support to ensure long-term stability and quality of life.


General Responsibilities:

  • Aids and support
  • Ability to work both as a collaborative team or independently


Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative, and actively use critical thinking skills.
  • Support clients as individually outlined. (Behavioural, Personal Care, Adapted communication) Complete daily documentation, clearly and concisely.
  • Deliver safe, dignified support.
  • Create and deliver daily activities.

Qualifications:

  • You have empathy, are self-aware, and work with integrity
  • Physically able to engage and support clientele in a variety of community-based activities
  • You are knowledgeable or have experience in areas of mental health and intellectual disabilities
  • You have a valid driver's license and can provide an acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Covid-19 Vaccination as per funders' mandate


Start Date: Start date will be arranged after cleared criminal record search.


Salary: $24.72
