The Opportunity:
Solvest is seeking a permanent, full-time Service Manager to lead and grow our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department in Whitehorse, Yukon. This is a pivotal role for a driven technical leader who is ready to build and shape the service function of a growing renewable energy company from the inside out.
You’ll be collaborating with the CTO (Chief Technical Officer) to develop and refine Solvest's O&M service offering; building tiered service packages, identifying new revenue opportunities, and leading the implementation of the systems and tools that allow the department to scale with confidence. As Service Manager, you will collect data on time, equipment, materials and parts used for service tasks to allow for improved service agreement estimating and budgeting.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Solvest's O&M strategy, overseeing service calls, warranty repairs, and maintenance contracts for commercial and utility-scale solar systems and PowerPod units. You’ll coordinate and dispatch Electricians, Solar Technicians, and Contractors, act as the primary point of contact for clients, and ensure all maintenance schedules and service standards are met with precision and professionalism.
Are you a technically grounded, systems-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment? If you are, we want to hear from you.
Employment Status: Permanent Full Time – 36 hours per week (4-day work week)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $125,000 per year (based on experience) + annual profit share based on company profitability
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon (on-site)
Leave Entitlement: Three weeks of paid vacation to start (15 days) + 5 paid sick days per year
Who You Are:
You are a technically skilled and operationally minded leader who takes pride in maintaining systems that work, and teams that deliver. You have a track record of managing O&M programs with precision, and you understand that in the renewable energy space, downtime is not just a cost; it's a client relationship.
You are a natural organizer and communicator. You know how to triage competing priorities, coordinate field teams across multiple active service calls, and still find time to analyze performance data and improve how the department runs. You are as comfortable in front of a client as you are digging into KPIs, failure rate trends, or a cost-per-service estimate.
You are entrepreneurial in your thinking. You see the service department not just as a support function, but as a revenue-generating arm of the business, and you are energized by the challenge of building it into something profitable, scalable, and respected. You look for inefficiencies and fix them. You look for opportunities and pursue them.
You are a collaborative leader who earns trust through competence, follow-through, and respect. You build a culture where feedback is welcomed, documentation is valued, and every member of the service team, from Solar Technician to Contractor, knows what is expected and why it matters.
If you are ready to take ownership of a department, bring your technical expertise to bear in one of Canada's most unique operating environments, and help Solvest deliver on its commitment to reliable renewable energy across the North, this is your next role.
