The Role:

Solace Power is looking for an IT Support Specialist who is responsible for providing end-user, network and systems support, while supporting our IT Administrator on various IT projects.

 

The IT Support Specialist’s Typical Day at Solace Power:

  • Provide end-user desktop support (including software, hardware, peripherals, and network).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support, managing the IT support ticketing system, and coordinating the intake, prioritization, and resolution of user requests.
  • Research various IT-related problems and provide timely responses to end users.
  • Track, prioritize, and document IT issues, requests, and resolutions.
  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all end-user devices and equipment to ensure optimal security and performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation of systems and networks.
  • Assist with maintenance of network and server infrastructure.
  • Assist in network monitoring and cybersecurity maintenance.
  • Assist in various IT-related projects to improve support, infrastructure, and business operations.
  • Perform various other duties related to IT system/user support as required. 

 

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Information Technology diploma or a suitable combination of training and work experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant IT experience in Desktop/User support.
  • At least 2 years of relevant IT experience administering Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Windows/Linux OS, and virtualization experience (ProxMox and VMWare).
  • Experience with Windows OS, Linux, and Mac OS.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining network and storage devices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to perform troubleshooting and assist users through IT procedures, in-person and remotely.
  • Self-motivated, a strong desire to learn, and be adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

 

Nice to Have Requirements:

  • Experience implementing and administering cloud-based data storage and cloud applications.
  • Experience identifying and vetting new software tools based on organization’s evolving needs.
  • Experience with implementing, using and supporting AI tools in a corporate environment.
  • ITIL, Microsoft and/or other relevant IT certifications.
