Position Overview:

The Class 3 Driver is a seasonal, full-time position responsible for the safe delivery of landscape and construction materials from April 15 to November 1.

This role requires experience operating both a dual axle flat deck with moffett and air brakes, tandem axel and dump with air brakes, while providing professional customer service on delivery sites.

Success in this role is measured by safe driving practices, on-time deliveries, and positive customer interactions.


What You’ll Be Doing:

Equipment & Delivery Operations
  • Safely operate Class 3 equipment including dual axle flat deck with moffett and air brakes, tandem axel and dump with air brakes.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials at residential and commercial sites
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure load securement complies with Manitoba transportation regulations
  • Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and care of assigned vehicle
Customer Support
  • Represent Shelmerdine Supply professionally on job sites
  • Communicate delivery details clearly with customers
  • Obtain required delivery documentation and signatures
  • Address delivery issues professionally and promptly
Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to provincial transportation and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation
  • Follow company safety policies and PPE requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience
  • Experience with flat deck trucks and Moffett forklifts preferred
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Strong understanding of load securement regulations
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs as required
  • Professional communication and customer service skills

Hours of Work

Hours will vary seasonally based on operational demand:

  • Busy periods may average 50+ hours per week


Weekend work is required. To be successful in this role, effective delegation and staff training are essential to allow for time off during peak spring and summer seasons.
