Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable Delivery Driver who can also assist with basic planting services. The successful candidate will deliver plants and gardening supplies to customers and help with simple planting tasks when required. This role requires safe driving, physical work, and good customer service skills.
When not delivering or installing product, the candidate will also work in the Outdoor sales and supply department by assisting customers in selecting the right trees, shrubs, and perennial plants for their landscaping needs while providing expert advice on planting, care, and maintenance. This role involves customer service, plant care, merchandising, and maintaining the nursery area.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Deliver plants, gardening materials, and other products to customers safely and on time
- Load and unload plants, trees, products and equipment from the vehicle upwards of 20 gallons.
- Assist customers with planting services such as planting flowers, shrubs, and small trees
- Ensure plants are handled carefully to avoid damage during transportation
- Build and follow delivery routes and schedules efficiently
- Maintain delivery records and obtain customer confirmations when needed
- Keep delivery vehicle and tools clean and in good condition
- Follow safety procedures while driving and performing planting work
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Inspect delivery vehicle regularly and report maintenance issues
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors regarding delivery updates
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a Cube Van with a Trailer
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more)
- Basic knowledge of gardening or planting techniques (preferred but not required)
- Good physical stamina for outdoor work
- Ability to work in different weather conditions
- Good communication time management skills and organizational skills
- Experience in landscaping, gardening, or planting
- Previous delivery driver experience
- Knowledge of plant care and soil types
