POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES


As the Director of People Operations, you will have the opportunity to develop/grow our organization’s most valuable asset – our people. You will lead our entire recruitment cycle and cultivate a dynamic, integrated environment to elevate our people to their highest potential. You will play a pivotal role in identifying talent opportunities and driving strategic solutions to support and grow the business. And, with people at the heart of everything you do, you will support high-performing people to grow rewarding careers at STN and be a key contributor in building a culture-first-focused HR function.


  • Co-Develop STN’s People strategy in line with organizational direction and current people needs
  • Lead our entire recruitment cycle and cultivate a dynamic, best in class candidate experience
    • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to understand the recruitment needs;
    • Lead full-cycle recruitment to ensure an exceptional candidate experience from applying to hire;
    • Actively source talent by building networks and cultivating relationships within tech communities;
    • Identify hard-to-fill roles and source innovative channels for recruitment;
    • Research, leverage, and recommend best practice recruitment strategies using various tools (i.e. social media, websites, professional associations, universities, co-op student programs);
  • Be an employer branding and culture champion
  • Collaborate with the People Ops Team and Hiring Managers to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into STN through a comprehensive onboarding program
  • Lead the development and integration of company recruiting process, programs, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to employee engagement, satisfaction, retention, inclusion initiatives and programs
  • Own and manage the talent acquisition tech stack including the applicant tracking system, career site, and external recruitment tools
  • Create and implement the training programs for hiring teams/leads including interview training and best practices
  • Capture and report on critical talent acquisition metrics
  • Play a pivotal role in identifying talent opportunities and driving strategic solutions to support and grow the business.
  • Develop and lead the internal recruitment and development process working closely with the People Operations team
  • Manage total compensation programs that align with market competitiveness and company direction working closely with the People Operations team
  • All other duties as assigned by the CEO

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years Human Resources experience
  • At least 3 years of experience recruiting technical talent with experience sourcing quality leadership talent
  • Experience with Canadian Employment Standards legislation and exposure to Employment Legislation in the US.
  • Experience in executing best in class employee experience initiatives that drive a high-performance culture and enable continued business growth
  • Broad knowledge and experience in compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development
  • Above average oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an energetic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Talent Acquisition programs
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate as a team
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
  • Excellent computer skills. Experience with Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) is an asset.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
