We’re seeking a proactive, detail‑oriented HR Generalist who is confident managing end‑to‑end recruitment, builds strong relationships, and serves as a trusted advisor. This role is ideal for someone that is organized, communicative, and adaptable—someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment, handles sensitive matters with discretion, and consistently promotes a positive, engaging workplace culture. This is a hybrid position that requires at least 3 days a week in office.

Purpose of this position:

The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operation and support of our team members, management and the firm. The HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of key HR functions including, talent acquisition, compliance with regulatory and fire-wide standards, responsive team member support, and general HR function support.

Key Responsibilities & duties:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including the creation of job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, selecting and hiring.
  • Track recruitment metrics, provide weekly updates and keep hiring managers informed of progress through each stage of the process.
  • Prepare and present employment agreements and onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitate new-hire orientation and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Respond to routine internal HR inquiries and provide assistance and support to team members on firm standards or policies.
  • Maintain accurate team member personnel files and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data.
  • Leverage HR expertise and act as a trusted advisor by supporting management in routine employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, in accordance with legislation, firm policies and best practices. Refer complex and/or sensitive matters to HR leadership.
  • Provide administrative support for the rewards and recognition program, assisting team members and leaders with day-to-day inquiries and system use.
  • Act as the HR lead for health and safety initiatives and represents management on the JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee), with support from HR leadership.
  • Responsible for staying abreast relevant legislative changes to ensure compliance of policies and procedures, with support from HR leadership.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of job and position related documents.
  • Responsible for delivering clear, timely and accurate HR communications to all levels of the firm.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive workplace by supporting the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Assist and provide support with performance management processes including annual reviews, formal feedback, goal setting and progressive discipline.
  • Assist HR leadership with execution of HR initiatives and projects.
  • Assist with administrative HR tasks.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee and file information.
  • Other ad-hoc projects and duties, as assigned.


What you offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of HR experience with at least 1 year as an HR Generalist/Advisor/Specialist.
  • CHRP designation, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of relevant employment legislation (Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as HRIS database systems.
  • Experience with talent acquisition and leading full-cycle recruitment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Highly organized with fine attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in an environment requiring discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience working with staff and clients in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Strong team player and ability to work collaboratively towards common goals.
  • Ability to use professional judgement and problem solving skills in decision making.
  • Joint Health & Safety Member certification, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill set.
