About the Role

Salish Soils is growing and we’re looking for a relationship-driven Sales Representative to help us strengthen and expand our retail partnerships across Greater Vancouver.

This is a field-based role for someone who loves being on the move, building real connections, and representing a sustainability-focused brand with pride. You’ll spend your days in garden centres and nurseries, supporting store teams, improving product visibility, and helping drive sell-through of our premium soil products.

If you enjoy autonomy, take pride in execution, and want to help grow a mission-driven company rooted in environmental impact, this could be your next great move.

What You’ll Do

🌿 Retail Sales & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with garden centres, nurseries, and retail accounts
  • Represent Salish Soils as a confident, professional brand ambassador
  • Own and manage your defined regional territory
  • Encourage reorders and identify opportunities to expand product placement
  • Surface new retail partnership opportunities to the broader sales team

🛒 In-Store Merchandising & Product Visibility

  • Ensure products are stocked, faced, signed, and aligned with brand standards
  • Support seasonal setups, product launches, and promotional displays
  • Identify and proactively correct merchandising gaps
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs clearly
  • Maintain strong product positioning relative to competitors

📈 Sales Support & Sell-Through Acceleration

  • Support retail promotions, seasonal campaigns, and in-store events
  • Educate store staff on product benefits to increase confident selling
  • Engage directly with customers when appropriate
  • Gather real-time retailer and customer feedback
  • Track store visits, sales observations, and key insights consistently

📊 Communication & Market Intelligence

  • Provide structured reporting on store visits, trends, and competitor activity
  • Share field insights with Sales & Marketing to inform strategy
  • Identify barriers to sell-through and propose practical solutions
  • Represent retail partner feedback clearly and professionally internally

What You Bring

  • Experience in retail sales, field sales, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently across a regional territory
  • Organized, proactive, and self-directed
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Interest in gardening, landscaping, sustainability, or outdoor products (an asset)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Greater Vancouver

What Success Looks Like

  • Retail partners view Salish Soils as easy to work with and well supported
  • Products are consistently well presented, stocked, and visible
  • Reorders increase and shelf presence expands during peak season
  • Sell-through improves across supported accounts
  • Reporting is clear, consistent, and actionable
  • Market insights meaningfully strengthen sales strategy
