The Role

As a Run Specialist at RunAsYouAre, you’ll be the heartbeat of our in-store experience, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for runners of all backgrounds. Whether helping customers find the perfect pair of shoes, sharing your product knowledge, or building connections within the running community, your goal is to make every interaction meaningful.

With a passion for running and a natural ability to connect with people, you’ll guide customers through product selections, ensuring they leave feeling confident and excited about their gear. You'll also support store operations, process transactions, and contribute to merchandising, order fulfillment, and community events.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Excellence, Support + Retail Sales (50%)

• Create a welcoming, relaxed and inclusive experience for all customers and runners of all types and abilities
• Help customers with product decisions by listening to their needs, answering their questions and providing relevant recommendations
• Collectively work with your fellow team members to achieve in-store sales targets
• Promote and highlight featured campaigns and products
• Offer an expert level shoe fitting experience, utilizing systems exclusive to RunAsYouAre and our health company RunReady
• Provide exceptional experiences for our customers through all our communication and sales channels, including in store, over the phone, through email and chat.

Product Knowledge (30%)

• Be open, curious and educated on emerging technologies and our product offerings and how they enhance the customer experience
• Stay up to date on current RunAsYouAre products, services and events and effectively communicate this information in a way that’s engaging for our community

Store Operations (15%)

• Accurately utilize our Point of Sale system and cash handling processes to accept payments, track orders and inventory details and manage customer accounts
• Execute customer transactions including sales, returns, exchanges, and warranty inquiries upholding all RunAsYouAre standards
• Maintain our store with tasks including merchandising, restocking, cleaning, etc.
• Fulfill and manage online orders, in store pick ups and associated inventory processes

Community Building (5%)

• Be an active participant in our community by attending community runs and events
• Participate in and assist with RunAsYouAre & Flight Crew Run Club events and clinics, typically held before or after shop hours
• Be an ambassador for RunAsYouAre and running no matter where in the world you are training and racing

Position Requirements

• You enjoy running and want to spend time actively building our running community
• 1+ years of experience in a customer service or retail role 
• Sales experience or a natural inclination toward promoting products and comfort in an authentic sales environment
• Experience in running speciality, or outdoor retail is an asset
• Schedule + Availability - you have the availability that meets our team's needs. At this time, we are looking for individuals who have weekend availability and can also pick up some shifts during the week.
