As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Project Manager to oversee and deliver industrial construction and fire protection projects across our client sites.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Civil Project Manager – Industrial is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of industrial maintenance and construction projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage teams, budgets, client relationships, and multiple project priorities in a high-demand industrial environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, management, and accountability to all direct reports.
  • Assist in defining project scope and engaging all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the execution of multiple ongoing projects.
  • Track and analyze project performance to ensure successful completion of long- and short-term goals.
  • Participate in Operations meetings and proactively raise concerns or improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate weekly/bi-weekly project meetings to ensure alignment across the team.
  • Manage the profit and loss (P&L) for assigned projects and ensure financial performance targets are met.
  • Create and assign KPIs to direct reports to drive operational and project results.
  • Work with the project team to establish project milestones and ensure they are achieved.
  • Conduct site visits to maintenance and construction sites across Western Canada.
  • Act as the Account Manager for existing regional clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Conduct onsite client meetings to address issues, resolve concerns, and plan upcoming work.
  • Support business development initiatives with new and existing clients.
  • Ensure quality assurance on all work performed and adherence to industry standards.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to support their skill development and job performance.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Monitor work progress, identify delays or risks, and implement mitigation measures with the team and clients.
  • Resolve questions, concerns, and escalations from employees and clients.
  • Lead team meetings with direct reports and clients to maintain strong communication alignment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, planning/scheduling, inventory management, fleet and equipment management, training, LEM processes, and operational workflows.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating company core values and supporting engagement between corporate and field teams.
  • Initiate team-building events and activities to promote a positive work environment.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong company image.
  • Ensure consistent availability via phone and email unless alternate arrangements have been made.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

·         5–10 years of industrial utility and/or fire protection experience.

·         Relevant trade or post-secondary education.

·         5+ years of leadership/management experience (Operations, Service Manager, Superintendent).

·         Experience managing field and office teams.

·         Skilled in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.

·         Experience with project management software such as Procore required.

·         Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

·         Site access requirements and safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS, CSO, LSE etc.).

·         PMP or MMP considered an asset.
