Rotaflow is seeking experienced Skilled Labourers.

As the Skilled Labourer your day to day job duties of this position role may include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform underground work including excavation and installing shoring, set up for fusing and bolt up.
  • Confined space work and monitoring, fire/spark watch.
  • Operate shovel, jackhammers, rakes , small hand tools , small compaction equipment.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Utilize pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
  • Lubricate, clean, and maintain equipment, and tools.
  • Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Shoring installation, Backfill process , setting up traffic barricades, road ramps, and other temporary structures.
  • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead hand or site supervision.

Requirements:


  • 5 years general labor experience in a construction setting working with unloading materials and equipment, driving vehicles, excavating and piping experience First Aid and CPR an asset.
  • 3 years experience working in the Oil Sands Industry.
  • Effective writing verbal and listening/communications skills.
  • Commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects not more than 50lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Certifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous Suncor experience is an asset
  • First Aid and CPR an asset.
  • OSSA Confined Space Entry & Monitor (required)
  • OSSA Fall Protection training (required)
  • CSTS 09/OSSA Regional or BSO, or CSO (required)
  • Commitment to quality and safety
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and clean 3yr driver’s abstract
  • OSSA Fire watch / Spark watch (required)
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects not more than 50lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Work Location: Fort McMurray Area
