ROLE OVERVIEW 

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Manager, Testing & Assurance will be responsible for the duties and obligations listed below. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as operational lead and second-in-command for Compliance Operations, providing day-to-day guidance to Compliance team members and technical compliance expertise to Product, Engineering, and other business partners. 
  • Partner with the CCO to build, review, and revise the annual self-testing plan, and execute it per the Self-Testing Policy 
  • Set governance over testing methodologies, standards, sample sizing, documentation, and reporting, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements 
  • Identify and drive AI and automation opportunities across the self-testing program, including data analytics (SQL, Python, BI tools) for sampling, trend analysis, and anomaly detection 
  • Document testing steps, results, and issues in organized workpapers and an observation log, noting criticality, owner, and resolution 
  • Track remediation plans through to completion 
  • Report self-testing KPIs to Compliance management on a regular cadence 
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including audit, to drive compliant solutions and respond to audit requests 
  • Communicate legal and regulatory requirements across business lines, providing compliance guidance 
  • Other duties as required. 

 

 

Qualifications 

  • Associate's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • 3-5 years in compliance, self-testing, or risk assurance, including management responsibility 
  • CAMS or equivalent certification preferred, not required 
  • Deep knowledge of BSA/AML requirements for MSBs and VASPs, including the PATRIOT Act, EDD, PEP, and OFAC screening 
  • Familiarity with consumer protection regulations (privacy, marketing, EFT, disclosures, deposits, payment cards, stored value, complaints) 
  • Experience with automated transaction monitoring systems and related platforms that support compliance operations, including customer support and case management systems 
  • Experience drafting and editing BSA/AML procedures and workflows 
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and written/verbal communication skills 
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving, evolving regulatory environment 
  • Self-starter who works well independently
