Technical Account Manager - RockWallet
Location: Remote
Reports To: Vice President, Business Development
Role Overview
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a hands‑on technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting merchant trials and proofs of concept (POCs) for MNEE Pay’s bank‑grade, POS‑native stablecoin acceptance network, with a primary focus on end‑to‑end payments API integrations across merchant environments.
Working closely with Business Development, Engineering, Product Management, and customer engineering, payments, and security teams, the TAM ensures that merchants can quickly evaluate, integrate, and scale “pay with any stablecoin” across online and in‑store channels, while translating integration details into reliable, production‑grade payment flows and measurable commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Trials & POC Delivery
- Own the end‑to‑end technical workstream for merchant trials and POCs—from initial scoping and technical discovery through to successful completion and production hand‑off.
- Partner with the opportunity lead (Business Development) to design trial/POC plans that align technical success criteria with commercial objectives and merchant timelines.
- Run technical discovery sessions with merchants (eCommerce, POS, payments, security, and treasury stakeholders) to map current payment flows, system architectures, and integration constraints.
- Provide hands‑on, code‑level support to merchant developers and solution partners (gateways, processors, platforms) during integration, including sample implementations, request/response payload reviews, and real‑time troubleshooting.
Integration Architecture & API Design
- Design and propose integration architectures leveraging MNEE Pay’s REST APIs, SDKs, and platform capabilities to embed stablecoin payments into existing eCommerce platforms, POS terminals, and payment gateway flows.
- Map MNEE Pay’s asynchronous transfer flow—UTXO selection, transaction signing, cosigner authorization, and broadcast status tracking—to merchants’ existing payment events (authorization, capture, refund, settlement) and document the end‑to‑end request/response lifecycle for each integration pattern.
- Configure sandbox environments, provision API keys, set up test wallets using developer tooling (CLI, SDKs), and seed accounts so merchants can validate payment flows with minimal friction.
- Review and optimise webhook configurations, ensuring reliable, idempotent event delivery for payment status updates, settlement confirmations, and exception handling.
Technical Documentation & Enablement
- Create and maintain implementation guides, API reference supplements, integration playbooks, and ROI‑oriented solution briefs that bridge the gap between MNEE Pay’s technical architecture and commercial deployment outcomes.
- Document implementation patterns, runbooks, and best practices for repeatable deployment motions, contributing to both internal knowledge bases and partner‑facing technical collateral.
- Support the VP, Business Development and core BD team in technical portions of RFPs, proposals, and partner enablement sessions.
Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement
- Translate merchant technical feedback into clear, prioritised requirements and feature requests to inform the MNEE Pay product roadmap—particularly around APIs, SDK coverage, reporting, settlement workflows, and developer experience.
- Work with Product and Engineering to prioritise and escalate technical issues surfaced during trials/POCs, ensuring rapid resolution and clear communication back to merchants.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic accounts post‑go‑live, supporting ongoing optimisation of MNEE Pay’s integration performance, uptime, and payment success rates.
- Maintain expert‑level understanding of MNEE Pay’s platform, including stablecoin support, settlement mechanics, treasury/off‑ramp options, and security/compliance posture.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
APIs, Integrations & Developer Tools
- Strong hands‑on experience designing, consuming, and debugging RESTful APIs, including authentication flows (API keys, OAuth 2.0, HMAC signatures), pagination, rate limiting, and error handling.
- Proven ability to work with webhooks and event‑driven integration patterns in production environments—including idempotency, retry logic, callback configuration, and fallback polling strategies for asynchronous transaction flows.
- Experience configuring and managing sandbox/staging environments, provisioning API keys, seeding test data, and validating end‑to‑end payment flows before production cutover.
- Familiarity with API documentation tools and standards (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman collections, developer portals) and CLI‑based developer tooling.
Payments & Blockchain Domain Knowledge
- Working knowledge of online checkout and POS payment flows, including how API calls map to authorization, capture, refund, void, and settlement events across card, ACH, and alternative payment method rails.
- Experience working with payment gateways, PSPs, acquirers, ISVs, or commerce platforms that expose payments APIs (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Square, Worldpay, Shopify).
- Ability to understand and explain payment economics (interchange, processing fees, settlement timing, chargebacks, FX) and how API‑level design choices impact these outcomes.
- Working knowledge of payment security standards (PCI‑DSS, tokenisation, encryption) and how they affect integration architecture.
Solution Design & Troubleshooting
- Ability to design integration architectures that embed third‑party APIs into complex, multi‑system merchant environments spanning eCommerce platforms, POS systems, gateways, and ERP/back‑office applications.
- Proven track record leading complex API integrations or POCs with enterprise or mid‑market merchants from discovery through production go‑live.
- Strong diagnostic skills for troubleshooting API failures, webhook delivery issues, data mapping mismatches, and edge‑case transaction scenarios across distributed systems.
Communication & Documentation
- Strong written communication skills for producing implementation guides, solution briefs, integration playbooks, and technical RFP responses that bridge technical and commercial audiences.
- Comfort translating business requirements into technical API solutions and clearly communicating trade‑offs, dependencies, and risks to both developer and executive stakeholders.
General Qualifications
- 5+ years in a technical, customer‑facing role such as Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Implementation Engineer, or Developer Relations Engineer.
- Direct experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, or eCommerce platforms, with demonstrated familiarity with both POS systems and online checkout flows.
- Proven ability to engage both deeply technical and non‑technical commercial stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Excellent verbal communication and strong problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to operate in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments typical of high‑growth fintechs.
Key Competencies and Attributes
- Customer Orientation: Obsession with customer success during trials/POCs and in early production, with a focus on reducing time‑to‑value and removing technical blockers.
- Technical Depth: Ability to quickly understand merchant architectures at the API and system level and design robust, scalable integration patterns using MNEE Pay.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of how technical design choices—API architecture, settlement logic, error handling—affect merchant economics, adoption, and revenue outcomes for MNEE Pay.
- Collaboration: Works seamlessly with Business Development, Product, and Engineering, acting as the connective tissue between commercial strategy and technical execution.
- Ownership: Takes full responsibility for the technical success of assigned trials, POCs, and early‑stage accounts, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.
