We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Compliance Officer to help build and grow our Antiguan compliance program which services institutional clients for OTC trading and stablecoin issuance. You will lead the efforts to strengthen our Antiguan compliance program.

Role Overview

Reporting to the CEO, Board, and Compliance Committee, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for the duties and obligations listed below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of the Antiguan Compliance Regime
  • Act as RockWallet’s and MNEE’s FSRC approved Compliance Officer, and all related obligations;
  • Work with local counsel to ensure regulatory compliance;
  • Oversee the implementation of RockWallet’s new Compliance Management tools and systems including SumSub, Sardine, Veriff, and Chainalysis;
  • Maintain and update the annual corporate risk assessment as required pursuant to regulations;
  • Ensure that sanctions screening policies, procedures and tools are operating maximally;
  • As needed, create, update and maintain policies, procedures and guidance, as required by the regulatory environment, pertaining to anti-money-laundering, anti-terrorist financing and sanction, and also pertaining to other regulated areas such as data privacy and protection, consumer protection and fraud prevention;
  • Develop a deep understanding of RockWallet and MNEE products and services to execute enhancements driven by the changing regulatory environment;
  • Responsible licensing strategy, license acquisition and maintenance as required, supervision of external vendors as required;
  • Ensure compliance monitoring, testing, and reporting are consistent with regulatory requirements as well as working with other functional group leaders to ensure compliance as needed in accordance with the compliance program;
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive compliant solutions to adherence to the regulatory regime governing MNEE & RockWallet’s business;
  • Communicate legal and regulatory requirements impacting the different lines of our business, and providing guidance from a compliance perspective;
  • Respond to and participate in internal and external audit requests;
  • Act as the Company representative who is registered with Compliance and Regulatory bodies;
  • Write, edit and participate in internal and external papers and articles on regulation and compliance; and,
  • Other duties as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree with CAMS certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in related compliance roles
  • Deep understanding and experience in the areas of compliance as it relates to Antigua & Barbuda
  • Familiarity with Antigua licensing regimes, application and maintenance processes
  • Strong experience in risk management
  • Strategic thinker, data-driven and analytical in approach to solving problems, thinking of ways to improve productivity, efficiency and business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a highly cross-functional, global organization.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively work with department members, senior leadership and colleagues outside the department and to respond to regulators, banking and payment partners and other vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to inform and educate team members, and to file correct and accurate compliance reports with regulatory bodies
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-moving startup environment.
