Reporting to the VP, Architecture, the Mobile Architect / Lead will be responsible for the following duties and obligations:
Job Title: Lead Mobile Developer
Job Summary: We are seeking a Lead Mobile Developer with extensive experience in both Android and iOS development to spearhead our mobile application projects. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 13 years of experience with expertise in Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS. You will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of mobile applications across both platforms, providing technical leadership, and mentoring a team of developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Mobile Application Development:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality mobile applications for both Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift).
- Architect scalable and efficient code to meet complex product requirements on both platforms.
- Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and quality of applications through rigorous testing and debugging.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mobile development teams, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Define and implement coding standards, best practices, and development processes for mobile applications.
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in mobile development and integrate relevant advancements into our development process.
Project and Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions across both platforms.
- Lead cross-functional teams in planning, executing, and managing mobile application projects.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
Strategic Contribution:
- Contribute to the strategic planning of mobile projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions to enhance application performance and user experience.
- Participate in architectural decisions and ensure alignment with long-term technical goals.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement:
- Oversee and contribute to the development of unit tests and automated tests for both Android and iOS applications.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes.
- Continuously evaluate and improve development processes and workflows to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 10 to 13 years of experience in mobile development with a strong focus on both Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift).
- Proven expertise in designing and delivering complex applications for both platforms.
- Experience with mobile frameworks and libraries, including Android Jetpack, LiveData, Room, and iOS frameworks such as UIKit, CoreData, and SwiftUI.
- Proficiency in integrating RESTful APIs and working with third-party libraries and APIs.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile applications.
- Advanced knowledge of performance optimization techniques for both Android and iOS applications.
- Familiarity with Material Design guidelines and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to lead complex projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.
Working Conditions:
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or conferences.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
