About RocketRez
RocketRez is an all-in-one cloud platform powering some of the fastest-growing tours & attractions across North America. Our platform connects data from every facet of our customers' businesses to help them manage their operations like never before. If you're passionate about people, technology solutions, travel, and exciting attractions, this may be the career opportunity for you!
About the Role:
We're looking for a startup-experienced Senior Manager, People Operations and HR to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable being a team of one (or close to it), and have successfully owned a People function end to end, we want to talk to you!
This is a "builder-doer" role. Reporting directly to our CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you'll have a real seat at the table for the People decisions that shape the business; and you'll roll up your sleeves to execute on the programs that make that strategy real. You won't be starting from scratch; a strong foundation of HR infrastructure, compensation bands, benefits programs, and policies is already in place. What we need is someone who can inherit that foundation intelligently, improve what needs improving, and bring genuine passion for culture, compliance, and the full employee experience.
You'll own full-cycle recruiting, HR compliance across Canada, the US, and Ecuador, day-to-day people operations, and the kind of cross-functional relationship-building that makes a People function useful to the business. If you've done this before in a scrappy, high-growth environment, and you're energized by variety, not overwhelmed by it, this is an exciting next move!
Core Responsibilities
- People Operations & Administration: Own the day-to-day function, benefits administration, payroll coordination, employee records (Rippling), and HR compliance across Canadian provinces, US states, and Ecuador (Deel).
- Recruiting: Run full-cycle recruiting end to end: job descriptions, sourcing, screening, assessments, and offers. No dedicated recruiter; you own the process.
- Compensation & Total Rewards: Maintain and improve pay bands, bring market data to comp decisions, and ensure internal equity across a multi-jurisdiction workforce.
- Performance Management: Redesign the performance review process, build meaningful scorecards, and support people managers through performance conversations.
- Onboarding Own the new hire experience from offer acceptance through ramp.
- People Manager Support: Maintain a regular cadence with all people managers; be a resource and thought partner, not just a process owner.
- Employee Relations: handles sensitive situations, accommodations, and employee issues with sound judgment and discretion.
- Culture & Engagement: Help shape a high-performance, high-trust culture.
Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or SaaS environment is considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience acting as an HR Business Partner to senior leaders, with the ability to influence decisions and provide sound judgment in complex situations
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, organizational design, and operational HR processes
- Experience overseeing payroll and benefits processes, with a strong understanding of compliance and employment legislation in Canada
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a founder-led or PE-backed environment
- Multi-jurisdiction compliance experience (Canada + US)
- Curiosity about how AI reshapes HR processes, workforce planning, and role design
