Republik is looking for a Videographer and Video Editor who wants to work with brands that take meaningful action for the environment and society.


We’re looking for someone who is creative, resourceful, and passionate about the impact of images. They can capture a moment’s emotions, handle the camera with grace, and shape the narrative with subtlety through editing. Their aesthetics, mastery of rhythm, meticulousness, and curiosity—including around emerging tools like AI—will all be key to producing engaging, transformative content. They have strong skills in video production, from short clips to full-length pieces, and know how to take capture stunning images that bring subjects or brands to life.


Alright, so what’s the job?

The job is to change the world through the creation of social capital. Artificial intelligence is one of the tools we use to create, analyze, and optimize the tasks below. We’re looking for someone who is forward-thinking, curious, and proactive. They should learn quickly, explore AI with discernment, and maintain a fundamentally human approach.

More concretely, here’s what your day-to-day could look like:


  • Conceptualize, plan, and produce creative ideas for short and long videos
  • Shoot original content in the studio or on location, depending on the project requirements
  • Edit videos for various formats (social media, campaigns, internal capsules, documentaries, etc.)
  • Work closely with strategists, creatives, and clients to bring ideas to life
  • Adapt content to platforms (formats, duration, visual codes)
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, proposing innovative ideas for filming or editing
  • Stay up to date on the latest visual and technological trends in video production
  • Be open to occasionally appearing in video content for clients

What kind of background are you looking for?

That being said, the ideal candidate demonstrates:


Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, whether in an agency, on the client side, in a relevant media outlet, or through personal projects
  • Excellent command of at least one video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of filmmaking fundamentals, including camera, audio, and lighting techniques
  • Interest in AI tools used in video production or editing (e.g., Runway, Pika Labs, Adobe Firefly), along with a willingness to explore their creative and strategic potential
  • Familiarity with social media and an understanding of the visual codes unique to each platform
  • Solid experience in creating short, engaging videos for social media
  • Keen sense of storytelling, emotion, and rhythm
  • Excellent understanding of content marketing, digital environments (social media, external media, branded content, etc.), production processes and the vocabulary related to video projects
  • Creative and open mindset, keen curiosity, sense of initiative, autonomy, and versatility

Assets

  • Knowledge of animation or motion design (After Effects)
  • Mastery of subtitling, colour grading, and sound mixing tools
  • Ability to shoot efficiently alone or in a small team
