Join Our Indigenous Advisory Council!

Relay Education is seeking dedicated Indigenous individuals to join our Indigenous Advisory

Council. This volunteer role offers a meaningful opportunity to guide our organization in

incorporating Indigenous perspectives, practices, and policies across our national programming.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Advise on Indigenous content inclusion and culturally sensitive educational materials.
  • Provide feedback to the Indigenous Programs Manager and Executive Director.
  • Help develop strategies for engaging with Indigenous communities.
  • Assist in creating policies that reflect Indigenous values and promote reconciliation.
  • Foster respectful relationships on behalf of Relay with Indigenous communities.

Qualifications:

  • Indigenous individuals from diverse backgrounds across Canada with strong community ties that is committed to sharing insights and willing to engage in meaningful dialogue.
  • Experience with Indigenous councils, communities, or organizations (preferred).
  • Experiencing teaching, working with children, working with an Education Authority (preferred).

Commitment:

  • Volunteer position (no financial compensation).
  • Attend approximately 1 meeting every 4 months (virtual or in-person).
