What We’re Looking For

Reimagine Work is growing its roster of independent HR consultants. We work with organizations that want practical, senior-level HR support, the kind that helps leaders make better decisions on complex people issues.

Instead of a single hire, we’re building a bench of experienced consultants who are specialists we can match to client work as it comes in. If you're a seasoned HR professional looking to take on meaningful contract work alongside your existing practice, we want to hear from you.

What the Work Looks Like

This role works on different client files, providing independent support, including advising leaders, working through complex employee situations, and delivering clear, practical and accurate recommendations. The work will vary by client as we support different sizes of businesses in a range of industries. To best support our clients’ needs, we're looking for consultants with part-time but consistent daytime availability, Monday to Friday.

Typical areas of work include:

  • Labour relations
  • Federally-regulated industries
  • Workplace investigations
  • Performance management and terminations
  • Compensation reviews
  • HR strategy and risk management
  • Health and safety
  • Non-profit

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated ability to manage complex employee and organizational issues independently.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CPHR designation, or actively working toward one, is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of BC employment standards and WorkSafeBC.
  • Familiarity with other jurisdictions, including federal standards and regulations is an asset. 
  • Sound judgment to advise leaders confidently on people-related decisions.
  • Clear, grounded written communication, especially taking a complicated situation and distilling it to what matters without using AI.
  • Comfort with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and HRIS platforms.
  • Based in Greater Victoria and available to support clients during regular business hours with advance notice.

About Reimagine Work

Reimagine Work is a fractional HR firm based in BC. 

Our retainer model is designed to partner with our clients as their embedded HR team, not a vendor they call occasionally. We act as their assigned HR expert and work alongside their leaders to gain a genuine understanding of their organization. Beyond acting as a client’s dedicated partner, each client also gains access to our team of 15 specialists as specific needs arise. 

Companies can also access support across the full range of people and culture projects:  audits, policies, handbooks, performance tools, and training. We also provide dedicated expertise in return-to-work requirements, compensation, and workplace investigations. Think of us as the HR function for organizations that don’t have in-house HR. 

Our clients are organizations willing to honestly examine how they lead and operate, and ready to do things differently.
