About Rainbow Railroad

Rainbow Railroad is an international human rights organization that creates pathways to safety for at-risk LGBTQI+ people and strengthens policies and systems that support their protection and integration. Since our founding in 2006, we have supported over 53,000 individuals and families, and have become a global leader in advancing LGBTQI+ rights. We are one of the few organizations that work as direct service providers, advocates, thought leaders, and movement strategists to address global queer forced displacement. Our mission is guided by a commitment to becoming a refugee-led organization that centres the experiences, leadership, and authority of LGBTQI+ refugees.

Rainbow Railroad is a registered charity in Canada and a U.S. 501(c)(3) organization with offices in Toronto and New York.

Position Overview

The Digital Marketing Officer (DMO) will support the growth of Rainbow Railroad's global digital presence, audience and impact. Working closely with the Director of Communications (DOC), the DMO will help shape and execute an integrated digital marketing and communications strategy that builds audiences, strengthens engagement, and drives tangible results in fundraising, advocacy and partnerships.

They will translate Rainbow Railroad's stories, campaigns and organizational priorities into content and experiences that inspire action, deliver results, and engage a diverse target audience, including but not limited to donors, civil society organizations, international development partners, governments, people with lived refugee expertise, and the global queer and ally community. This is a hands-on role for a digital marketer who combines creative storytelling with analytical thinking. The DMO will use audience insights, performance data and experimentation to continuously improve our digital marketing and communications efforts.
