What you’ll actually do

• Be the primary technical interface for application engineering, system configuration, and deployment.
• Translate site conditions and customer requirements into clear specs, proposals, and cost models.
• Support field testing, startups, troubleshooting, and customer demos—not from a distance.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to drive design updates, reliability fixes, and cost reductions.
• Create and maintain drawings, calculations, manuals, and datasheets that people actually use.
• Track field reliability metrics and kick off root cause analysis when things go sideways.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Execs on product roadmap input, launches, and positioning.

What we’re looking for

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (Technologist with equivalent experience absolutely welcome).
• 5+ years in applications engineering, product management, or system integration.
• Background in industrial or energy systems.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, power systems, and industrial controls.
• Strong communicator—technical depth without losing the room.

Skills that matter here

• Experience in one or more of:
• • Energy / oil & gas
  • Power generation
  • Fuel conditioning
  • Instrument air
  • Electrical motors, VFDs, automation, PLCs
• Hazardous area equipment experience (nice-to-have, not a blocker).
• Comfortable working around high and low voltage systems.
• Experience with engineered packages, power system design, panel design, manufacturing interfaces.
• Strong documentation, scheduling, and CAD discipline.
• Safety-minded, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities without drama.
• Self-starter who can work solo and collaborate without ego.

Work environment & travel

• Based in Calgary, with occasional national and international travel.
• Engineering, lab, shop, and job-site environments.
• Some lifting (up to ~20 lbs).
• Exposure to elevated noise or temperature at times—this is real-world engineering.
