About us: Purposeful Golf is an owner/operator of premium golf properties across Ontario.

We aim to carefully curate a portfolio of golf properties, each distinct in its purpose. By emphasizing quality over quantity, we aim to deliver memorable experiences, tailored to diverse needs, while leveraging scale to enhance, rather than dilute, the golfer’s experience.

Purposeful Golf operates within a larger ecosystem built around thoughtful ownership and sustainable growth, led by Purposeful.

At Purposeful, we believe purpose is the start of everything good.  A sense of purpose individually, and more importantly as a team, is what motivates people to do better, to deliver outstanding products and services, and to build something they can be proud of.

Our Purpose is to improve the lives of all our stakeholders through exceptional experiences for everyone.

We aim to generate stable long-term financial results for our investors without compromising on product quality, customer service, employee experience, or social responsibility.

About the role:  As an Assistant Kitchen Manager with Purposeful Golf, you’ll help prepare and execute menus with quality and consistency while supporting the kitchen team. You will assist with prep, supervise line staff when needed, and contribute to smooth operations. You will uphold the club’s values by fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture.

  • Maintain the pass, conducting a final quality and presentation check on every dish before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Master all kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, and ovens, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Lead by example, supervising line staff in the absence of the Sous or Executive Chef to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Expertly manage prep, handling high-volume chopping, portioning, and inventory rotation to stay ahead of service.
  • Champion a positive culture, fostering a professional environment and assisting with the onboarding of new team members.
  • Ensure top-tier sanitation, adhering to all food safety, WHMIS, and organizational cleanliness protocols.
  • Manage inventory effectively, monitoring prep levels to reduce waste and communicating stock needs to senior chefs.
  • Collaborate across the team, supporting everything from patio service to kitchen maintenance to ensure total operational success.

What you bring:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a kitchen environment (restaurant, golf club, or catering) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-moving kitchen.
  • Skilled at multitasking and staying organized while working efficiently under pressure.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to strong teamwork and communication.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols; a Food Handler’s Certificate is considered a strong asset.

What You’ll Need:

  • Flexible availability to work a varying schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Comfort with both fast-paced service days and slower periods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and comfortably lifting and bending.

Why You’ll Love It:
