About the role:  As the Greenskeeper at Manitou Ridge, you’ll assist with daily maintenance of the golf course through various tasks assigned daily in collaboration with the rest of the Turf Department. As a whole, the Turf Department is responsible for maintaining pristine playing conditions on the golf course and maintaining all surrounding areas to provide exceptional experience for our members and guests.

Purpose Statement: To provide excellent playing conditions through consistent attention to detail across the golf course.

What you’ll do: 

• Operate light utility vehicles and hand power equipment, including:
• • Line trimmers
  • Flymows
  • Brush cutters
  • Backpack blowers
  • Rotary mowers
  • Riding mowers
• Utilize hand tools such as shovels and rakes for landscaping tasks.
• Perform an assortment of tasks related to turf maintenance, including:
• • Maintaining greens, tees, fairways, natural areas, bunkers, walkways, and greenspaces.
  • Course setup.
  • Landscaping around the clubhouse.
  • Work independently and in groups with minimal supervision.
  • Be punctual and take directions well.

What you bring: 

• Previous turf maintenance experience and a good understanding of the game of golf is an asset.
• You notice the small things, from making sure mowing lines are straight to ensuring bunkers are raked neatly for the first players of the day.
• You stay alert while on the course, spotting and reporting things like broken sprinklers or dry patches of grass before they become bigger problems.
• You treat our tools and machinery with respect, following simple checklists to keep everything running safely and smoothly.
• You understand that picking up a stray piece of litter or trimming a messy edge makes a huge difference in how our members enjoy their round.

What You Need: 

• Valid ‘G’ driver’s license.
• Flexibility with early morning starts, including weekend mornings & holidays on a rotating schedule.
• Capacity for physical labor in various outdoor conditions.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Reliable transportation to and from Manitou Ridge Golf Club.
• Physical stamina for walking the course, standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and carrying equipment
• Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative tasks or front desk work

Compensation:

• $17.60 per hour - $23.00 per hour depending on previous experience
• $17.60 per hour (students)
