Purpose Statement: To work in partnership with the Food and Beverage manager to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere where personalized, genuine hospitality turns the members' time at the club into lasting memories.
Position Summary:
As the Assistant FOH Manager at Manitou Ridge, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our members and guests in both our restaurant and outdoor patio. You will lead by example, ensuring smooth daily operations while upholding high service standards. In addition to providing outstanding hospitality, you will assist with coaching and support the serving team, fostering a positive and professional work environment. You will also assist with coordinating and executing events, ensuring seamless experiences for all guests. Your leadership, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality will help create a welcoming and memorable dining atmosphere at the club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Front of House Manager to maintain a positive culture, coordinate processes and supervision coverage, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism in alignment with Purposeful Golf’s Core Values.
- Help coach, train, and mentor staff, reinforcing best practices and club service standards.
- Lead, support and motivate the front of house service team during daily operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, guests, colleagues, vendors, and the community.
- Oversee dining room, private dining space and patio set up, cleanliness and readiness for service.
- Support planning and execution of members' and guests' events, ensuring flawless service.
- Support and assist with the execution of Manitou Ridge Experience Packages and special offerings, coordinating closely with the Front of House Manager, Head Professional, Golf Staff, and culinary team to deliver seamless, highly personalized guest experiences that require careful planning, attention to detail, and elevated service.
- Act as the point of contact for guests' concerns, resolving issues professionally.
- Communicate effectively with the culinary team and management teams to ensure smooth service.
- Provide exceptional customer service and handle escalations professionally.
- From time to time, travel to Purposeful golf courses for events, training, or team development.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and SMART SERVE regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous management or supervision experience in high-volume hospitality or golf course environment.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and liquor regulations (SMART SERVE certification required).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak season events.
- Wine, spirit and mocktail knowledge.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to indoor dining, outdoor patios, and event spaces.
- Collaborative cross-functional teamwork with kitchen, management, vendors, and other departments.
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, assisting with event setup, and lifting or moving equipment as required.
- Comfortable living and working in a remote, peaceful, cottage-country environment.
