The role day to day:

  • Post and track forms fees received from lawyers and other deposits for the company’s corporate account
  • Oversee review of daily cash deposit reports including clearing cash drawer account, checking for accuracy, transferring funds and posting payments
  • Prepare, file and pay GST/PST/MRDT returns as directed by the Manager – Accounting Department
  • Prepare strata fee and earthquake deductible schedules for AGM notices
  • Update strata fees, PADs and operating budgets for strata clients as approved at the AGMs
  • Calculate and prepare utility invoices for the Balance and Synergy buildings
  • Assume responsibilities as assigned by the Manager - Accounting Department
  • Assist Manager - Accounting Department in preparation and reconciliation of monthly strata preliminary operating statements
  • Assist Manager - Accounting Department with banking functions including deposit queries and coordination of daily “bank run”
  • Complete Month End Processing – adding charges and processing PADs – as directed by the Manager – Accounting Department
  • Assist with determining training opportunities for property managers and staff in other departments regarding accounting operations
  • Assist with onboarding all new employees regarding accounting operations
  • Provide input and suggestions to help streamline the company’s accounting operations, policies and procedures

The Details:

Experience & Qualifications

  • University degree in related field or relevant work experience
  • Currently working towards or have CPA
  • Enthusiasm for working with people and systems
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Successful completion of Criminal record check

Position Details:

  • $45-55,000 annually to start
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Potential for supervisory responsibilities as you gain more experience
