The Director of Sales, USA will lead revenue growth, strategy, and customer engagement across Canada and the U.S. solar markets. This person will expand market presence, manage key accounts, and drive adoption of Polar Racking’s mounting solutions with developers, EPCs, and distributors.
Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Strategy
· Define and execute a sales strategy across Canada and the U.S. aligned with company growth goals.
· Build segment strategies for utility-scale, commercial, and emerging solar markets (e.g., agrivoltaics).
· Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets, forecasting, and pipeline growth.
Customer & Market Development
· Cultivate strong relationships with solar developers, EPCs, distributors, and partners.
· Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical sessions.
· Collaborate on marketing campaigns with the marketing team to generate leads and brand exposure.
Solution Selling & Technical Support
· Present tailored solutions (ground mount, tracker, carport, foundation systems) to customers.
· Work closely with engineering and technical teams to support bids, proposals, and complex project requirements.
· Provide market feedback to product and engineering teams to influence future offerings.
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Mentor and build a high-performance sales team.
· Partner with operations, supply chain, and customer service to ensure quality execution.
· Enable sales readiness with training and effective sales tools.
Required Qualifications
· 10+ years of sales leadership experience in solar, renewable energy infrastructure, or heavy industrial solutions.
· Proven success in North American B2B sales with utility or commercial solar clients.
· Strong understanding of solar project development lifecycle and technical product requirements.
· Excellent communicator skilled in negotiation, presentations, and strategic partnerships.
· Ability to travel regularly across Canada and the U.S.
Preferred Experience
· Experience with distributed manufacturing and supply chain considerations in cross-border operations.
· Prior success working with EPCs, developers, and utility scale project owners in Canada and the U.S.
· Established network within the renewable energy sector.
