The Umrah Fund uplifts Muslims who have faced immense hardship through a structured, holistic pilgrimage programme. The role involves assisting the Umrah Fund Director with day to day duties in relation to the Umrah Fund.

Expectations and Responsibilities

The purpose of this role would be supporting the programme manager with the following:

  • Completing phonecalls to nominees/nominators during shortlist finalisation stages,
  • Collection of documents prior to umrah trips i.e; passport, waiver forms, vaccination certificate etc,
  • Contacting nominee/nominators to inform them of event details i.e pre umrah sessions, post umrah sessions, 1-1s,
  • Updating CRM with information regarding the nature of contact with pilgrims,
  • Ensuring nominees/nominators are informed of Pilgrim activities and campaigns via Whatsapp, email & phonecall,
  • Planning surprises; this includes liaising with staff members and with volunteer departments to confirm individuals to attend surprise visits,
  • Any administration needed in preparing Pilgrims for their Pilgrimage journey with the Umrah Fund,

  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a diverse range of individuals who may be volunteers, supporters, donors, participants or beneficiaries,
  • Strong self-motivator with ability to support and motivate others
  • Demonstrate diplomacy and ability to work in confidence
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate creativity and time management skills and ability to work to multiple deadlines

Reports to: Umrah Fund Programme Manager

Approx. Interview & Role Commencement Date(s):

Interviews: 17th September 2020

Start: ASAP thereafter

Hours: 12 Hours per month

Salary: £10.55 - £16.50 per hour
