About PheedLoop

Want to help build the financial backbone of a technology company powering events across the world?

At PheedLoop, we build critical technology for the global events industry. From conferences and trade shows to hybrid and virtual experiences, our software powers high-impact events around the world. As one of Canada’s fastest-growing event technology companies, we design systems that simplify, automate, and monetize events; including self-check-in hardware, smart badges, and a powerful SaaS platform. We move fast. We listen to customers. We build quickly. And we care deeply about delivering real results.

This role requires someone with vision, analytical rigor, and a relentless work ethic that goes far beyond the norm. PheedLoop is committed to extremely rapid innovation with only the most ambitious team Canada has to offer. If you’re analytical, resourceful, and excited about building financial systems that directly support a high-growth technology company, this is for you. This is a 100% in-person role at our Toronto office.

What Will My Impact Be?

  • Build Strategic Finance into Our Operations: You'll take our existing bookkeeping and external accounting relationships and add the layer that's missing: reporting, planning, and financial analysis that makes finance a part of how leadership runs the business day-to-day, not just something that happens in the background.
  • Financial Visibility: You'll create the monthly reporting package that tells leadership how the business is actually performing. Revenue by segment, margins by product line (SaaS vs. hardware), customer acquisition cost, departmental spend. The numbers that drive real decisions.
  • Strategic Decision Support: You'll provide the financial insights that directly inform how we invest, hire, and grow. Should we double down on a new product line? You'll build the models that answer those questions.
  • Cash Flow and Financial Discipline: You'll manage cash flow forecasting and budget discipline across the company, keeping us sharp in a business that combines recurring SaaS revenue with the unpredictable cash needs of hardware and logistics.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Build and maintain monthly financial statements, management reports, and a reporting package that non-finance people can actually understand
  • Own the annual budget and reforecast quarterly so leadership is never flying blind on hiring, investment, or operational decisions
  • Build financial models to evaluate strategic questions: Should we invest more in a new product line? What happens if we hire five more people this year? How does our hardware logistics spend trend against revenue?
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure operational runway, accounting for the unique cash dynamics of a SaaS + hardware business
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial efficiency and profitability
  • Work with our external accountant on tax planning, SR&ED claims, and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with our bookkeeper to ensure clean, timely books that support your reporting and analysis
  • Implement and improve financial systems and analytics to streamline reporting and scalability

Core Competencies

  • Takes ownership — doesn’t wait to be told what to report on or what to model. Sees a gap in how leadership understands the business and fills it.
  • Asks “why” before “how” — digs into the business context before building a model. Understands that the story behind the numbers matters more than the numbers themselves.
  • Is scrappy and resourceful — thrives in ambiguity and figures things out with imperfect data. You won’t have a perfect ERP system or a clean data warehouse. You’ll need to work with what exists and make it better.
  • Sweats the details but ships — balances analytical rigor with pragmatism. Knows when a 90% accurate forecast delivered on time is better than a 99% accurate forecast delivered late.
  • Learns the business deeply — is genuinely curious about how PheedLoop works, who our customers are, how events run, and where the money flows. The best finance people understand the operations, not just the ledger.
  • Communicates proactively — raises financial risks early, shares insights without being asked, and presents complex data in ways that drive action.

What You'll Bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, financial planning, or a finance role at a growing company
  • Strong financial modeling skills and expertise in budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience building reports, dashboards, or financial packages from scratch
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with FP&A tools or financial analytics platforms is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and Canadian tax regulations; experience with SR&ED or R&D tax incentives is a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex financial data to leadership and diverse stakeholders
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA is preferred but not required
  • Experience at a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company is a significant advantage
