The Electrical Hardware Engineer at NordSpace will play a critical role on the team to build electrical systems that ensure reliability and performance, primarily on our launch vehicles and satellites. This role will also heavily support the rest of the divisions at NordSpace where mechanical, electrical, and software systems are necessary, as is typical in a small team environment. This role requires someone with vision, leadership, and a relentless work ethic that goes far beyond the norm.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test PCB prototypes in a lab environment
- Execute schematic capture and implement PCB layouts, including the creation of component symbols and footprints
- Perform signal integrity simulations and oversee implementation into layout of high speed digital and high frequency analog signal paths
- Develop verification test plans and execute the tests, conduct bench testing using oscilloscope and spectrum analysers
- Develop software scripts to automate data processing and repetitive testing
- Participate in every phase of product development, including requirements definition, architecture and concept definition, specification and selection of components, control and monitoring requirements, algorithm definition, detailed implementation, integration and characterization
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace engineering related to electrical and control systems
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, Master’s or Ph.D. greatly preferred
- Significant hands-on engineering experience with electrical systems (PCB design, embedded systems programming) using Altium, Python, C/C++
- Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
- Excellent English communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
